Going Batty
Batty is what some of you may be feeling these days! So, to give a different perspective on being batty, I would like to introduce you to my bat “Frank.” You are likely wondering why on earth I am blogging about a bat . . . not everyone’s favorite creature! Before I go into the spiritual meanings of the bat, one of the key messages of its appearance in your life is to be ready for major transitions and transformation. This is clearly relevant to what we are currently experiencing in our world.
My interactions with bats started when I was a very young girl and they continue to “show up” to this day—not always in physical form, but also in television shows, movies, photos, books, etc. Considering the amazing spiritual path my life has taken in the past few years, it is clear that bats had been providing me with “messages” for decades without me even realizing it (and they continue to do so—even this past week).
What are some of the spiritual qualities of the bat? As bats are most active at night, they have gotten a bad rap—perhaps representing darkness or physical death. They actually represent a bridge between worlds: death and rebirth, endings and beginnings, letting go and creating something new—this is positive. The endings can relate to a job, living environment, relationships, and even old habits, patterns and thoughts related to your part or role in the grand scheme of things—and the bat can help changes go smoothly and help alleviate the pain that sometimes goes with it. Again, they are a sign of major transitions and transformation; be alert to ALL of your senses—not just what you see on the surface—and be aware of the signs the Universe is giving you. They also represent perception, intuition, psychic power, seeing the unseen, sensitivity to the environment (including energy and vibrations), trusting in your gifts, and having confidence. Bats are also warm and nurturing and have strong bonds with family and groups, and are highly sociable. Just as the bat can be misunderstood . . . bat serves as a reminder not to judge a book by its cover—open the book.
So, the next time you see a bat show up, in any way, don’t be afraid of it or react negatively . . . instead, pay attention and consider its positive message for you.
Have bats shown up in your life?
Are you paying attention to and using ALL of your senses?
Are you currently judging or making assumptions about someone or something without looking deeper?
