Breathing with the Birds

BL_006_Photo.jpg

Stop for a moment and imagine . . . you have found a peaceful place to sit, you feel the warmth of Spring morning sun, the air is calm and refreshing, you can see the trees have budded out and are turning green, you can smell the grassy earth, you can hear the birds singing, and you can feel energy moving through your Being.

Focused breathing does not have to involve a formal meditation practice or method. All you need to do is allow yourself to just sit, be present (even if for just a few minutes), and connect with your heart and lungs. Allow yourself the opportunity to soak up a natural environment and let it feed your breaths—even if that environment is something you need to imagine. Focus on the sounds of nature and you will feel yourself be lulled into peace and the energy of your Being will open and flow. It is OK if distracting thoughts enter—just breathe them through and out of you and return to . . . breathing with the birds.

What do you want to breathe into your Being?

What do you want to breathe out of your Being?

What are you waiting for?

Side note: If you get the chance, listen to the song “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley & the Wailers . . . great mood lifter!
